Lakshadweep Khadi Village Industries Department sanctioned new projects with employment opportunities. The decision was taken in the 86th meeting of the Lakshadweep Khadi Village Industries Board held on the 5th of this month. 

Vice Chairperson P. P. Aminabi chaired the meeting, besides the Director of Industries, Executive Officer Arif Nediyath and other senior officials attended the meeting.

It was said in the meeting that the new projects which will change the face of the Khadi Board will create a lot of employment opportunities in all the islands of Lakshadweep.

Necessary machinery to start an eco-friendly cloth bag manufacturing unit has arrived in Kavarathi. The new units will start operations along with the auctioning off of old equipment in the islands of Kavarathi, Amini, Antroth and Kalpeni.
