A government employee from mainland committed suicide at Kavarathi in Lakshadweep after his journey was canceled due to non-confirmation of the ship ticket. Bhagwan Kandari, an office worker at India Reserve Battalion headquarters, committed suicide last night. Colleagues say that he had minor mental problems. Therefore, the IRB staff were making efforts to send him home. He had a waiting list ticket on the last ship.
His colleagues say that he could not board the ship because of that, so his colleagues arranged a confirmation ticket for him to board the ship which reached Kavarathi yesterday. But it is known that when he went to board the ship, he showed a waiting list ticket and therefore the police officers who checked the ticket sent him back.
His colleagues say that he returned to the IRB camp and stayed in the camp till four in the evening, After that, he went missing and the police searched for him but could not find him.
His body was found this morning after committing suicide near the hotel north of Kavarathi Children's Park.
