What Is World Fisheries Day? and Why Does it Matter?

World Fisheries Day is well known on twenty first November each year to demonstrate commonness with all fisher folks, fish farmers and anxious stakeholders throughout the globe.


It started in 1997 wherever “World Forum of Fish Harvesters & Fish Workers” met at capital of India resulting in formation of “World Fisheries Forum” with representatives from eighteen countries and signed a declaration advocating for a world mandate of property fishing practices and policies. 


The event aims to draw attention to overfishing, surround destruction and alternative serious threats to the property of our marine and fresh resources. The celebrations serve to specialize in ever-changing the means the globe manages international fisheries to make sure property stocks and healthy scheme.
