Mubssina Muhammad gave Lakshadweep its first ever gold in the National Youth Athletic Championship.
Mubassina jumped a distance of 5.90 meters in the under-18 girls' long jump and thus qualified for the Asian Youth Athletic Championship.
Mubassina, who studied in Kerala last year, participated in the World School Meet held in France, who earlier won gold in the long jump and heptathlon events at the 33rd South Zone Athletic Championship, is taking the entire sports scene of Lakshadweep to new heights.
Behind Mubassina in South Zone, Mubassina's sister Musaina Mohammad won bronze and Raiza Begum won gold in javelin under 14 category.
